What we buy

Gold.

Every karat from 8K to 24K. Scrap, bench stock, broken jewellery and dental, in whatever state it came off the bench in.

Mixed lots are normal. They are separated and weighed by grade while you watch, before anything is agreed.

The grades we buy.

All seventeen. A dealer holding 11K or 13K should be able to find it on the list rather than guess whether it is covered.

The assay is witnessed, so you see what the lot tests at.

How it is assayed.

The lot is weighed in front of you, then read on XRF. Every lot, and you watch the reading taken.

Plated and gold-filled material is not bought at all. It is refused. It is separated out at the counter while you watch it come out, and it goes back across the counter with you.

A lot at the assay splits two ways: solid karat gold is read on XRF, then bought, while plated and gold-filled material is separated out and refused. The lot at the assay Solid karat, 8K to 24K Read on XRF while you watch, and bought on that reading. Plated and gold-filled Refused. Separated out at the counter, and you see it come out.
